MOBILIZING COMMUNITY SOLUTIONS TO END UNNECESSARY FAMILY SEPARATION
WHO WE ARE
David Kelly and Jerry Milner established the Family Justice Group to disrupt the child welfare pipeline to family separation by supporting families, preventing surveillance and intrusion, and building on the strengths of families and communities.
WHAT WE DO
FJG is committed to ending unnecessary family separation through demonstration, advocacy and messaging.
FJG works with public, private and community-based entities that are committed to keeping families together and creating alternatives to traditional child welfare approaches.
FJG supports state and federal policies that invest in families and promote equitable access to community-based resources, supports and opportunities.
FJG engages in public discourse to confront perceptions and policies that adversely affect children and families and offers concrete alternatives.
FAMILY JUSTICE JOURNAL
The Family Justice Journal amplifies the voices of families and individuals that have been impacted by the child welfare system by publishing columns, articles, and artistic expressions from people with lived experience.
